a day like any other day...

Rie, 7 years old, made breakfast. She made muffins, all by herself in the oven. Yikes! She put bowls of cereal out for everyone and had Daddy's coffee ready even though he was already at work. Lately she's really been into making things for us, but I'm not always into it because my stomach can't take the thought of some of her concoctions. So today I was determined to be nice and supportive about this. She did manage to make something that was yummy... and because she loves me so much she even cleaned up most of the mess (keep reading a couple posts down about my dislike for messes in the kitchen). Good morning, so off we go to Chuck e Cheese.

Now for some reason when they're good they get a reward. Why? Because that' nice, right. Well, sometimes it's torture because they can't handle the excitement of a reward. They get into the car and start immediately screaming, singing and yelling just to annoy the other one! I'm always the last one out of the house to make sure it's clean in case we have someone come and look at the house. I hear these sweet sounds all the way inside the house from a closed door car. "Stop sweet children of mine I say ever so sweetly." But they don't listen. More screaming, hands flying, and now we have crying. "Why, oh why?" I ask myself. I go to the car and gently open the door and calmly ask my children why they can't handle sitting in a car without me. "I don't know" comes the answer from my children. Again, using my sweet, gentle voice I tell them they are lucky to do these kinds of things but if they can't handle it they can sit on their beds the rest of the summer. After that, for some reason unknown to me, they were the sweetest children at Chuck e Cheese. Hmm....

Daddy came to meet us for lunch. Funny thing about Bear (christian) is that she'll start a game and then leave you standing there like you're the only one playing the preschool game. Funny.

After an afternoon of fun we had dinner and then it was time to mow the yard. Rob and Kade head outside and this is what I find. Life is good. My 7 year old cooks and my 8 year old mows the lawn. I knew I had kids for a reason:)

*** By the way, Rie has now told me that since she broke the world record for cooking at 7 years old that she now thinks she's old enough to drive. DRIVE!!!! Now that I'm adult with kids I think 15 and 16 are too young and she wants to at 7! ha!

Cute pictures. S-U-R-E Christian was playing a game and Rob just happened to take it over. We all know how competitive Rob is and 420is a pretty good score!!!
